Argentina’s Los Pumitas secured a second win over South Africa’s Junior Springboks at the 2024 World Rugby U20 Championship.
Starting brightly the South American side got on the scoreboard early through flyhalf Santino Di Lucca who kicked a penalty in the 6th minute.
Returning fire the home side would score next as Tylor Sefoor slotted a cool three points to bring the scores level.
The remainder of the first half would belong to Argentina as they scored three tries through Juan Greising Revol, Efrain Elias and Gregorio Perez Pardo. In response the Junior Boks scored a superb solo effort through Jurenzo Julius who hot stepped his way over the line to give side a foot hold in the contest before half time.

Returning to action, the home side roared on by a passionate crowd struck first through backrow Sibabalwe Mahashe with Sefoor’s conversion, the home side were suddenly back within a score at 24 – 17.
Regaining their composure, Argentina would show their class as they scored next through Timoteo Silva before fullback Benjamin Elizalde added a conversion and penalty to all put seal the result.
Never willing to give up the fight, South Africa would have the final say Julius crossed the whitewash for his second try in the 76th minute but it was too little too late.
Concluding their account for this year, the junior Boks will face the losers of Australia and Wales in the 7th place play-off.
